Local Justice – Todorovic: Four Years in Prison

According to the verdict, on May 30, 1995 Todorovic waited for Muhamed Zulkic, who was walking back home on a pedestrian path, in Samac village, Celinac and threw a bomb at him with an intention to kill him, causing Zulkic life-threatening injuries.
Trial Chamber Chairwoman Vesna Stankovic-Cosovic said that the Prosecution had undoubtedly proved that the indictee had committed the crime in the way described in the indictment.
“The fact that Todorovic is an elderly man and a father of two, as well as the fact that many years have passed since the crime, has been taken into consideration as mitigating circumstances. As far as the aggravating circumstances are concerned, we have considered his unscrupulous intention to kill a younger person, with whom he had good relations,” judge Cosovic said.
Nebojsa Pantic, Defence attorney of Todorovic, said that he was not satisfied with the verdict.
“We shall certainly appeal the verdict, because the District Prosecution has not proved that my client committed the crime charged upon him. This was not even a war crime, because not every crime that happened during the war can be characterised as a war crime,” Pantic said.
