Witnesses Sakib Kikic and Safet Silajdzija said that they were sent, in their capacity as policemen, to Plandiste due to some shooting that came from that place. Kikic said that they knocked and then banged on a house door, adding that a tall man in a civilian suit came out.“He passed by us. When I heard a gunshot on the other side of the house, I left. At that moment I heard fast individual fire. Three to five bullets were fired. I heard shouting. Somebody was cursing a Chetnik’s mother,” the witness said. As he said, when he returned, he saw a man lying on his back and saw blood on his chest and stomach. “Military policeman Fadil Dajic was standing close to him. Smoke was still coming from his gun. One could see that the gun had been used. Vahid Hadrovic was standing behind him. I was scared, because I thought that Dajic might open fire at us too. I was shocked,” Kikic said. He said that they left soon and that he heard, later on, that the killed man’s name was Sekula Poletan. According to the charges, Dajic and Hadrovic committed the murder on June 10, 1993. It is alleged that Hadrovic beat him up, breaking his facial bones, and that Dajic killed him by firing five or six bullets at him. Safet Silajdzija said that he did not see the murder either, because he was behind the house.“I heard shouting and shooting, but I could not tell where it was coming from, because shooting sounds were coming from all directions. When I came back in front of the house, I saw a man on the ground. I saw a military policeman, whom they called Dedo, standing next to him,” Silajdzija said. The trial is due to continue on January 20.
