They are charged with having participated in physical abuse of Andjelko Bozic and his sons Nedeljko and Veseljko. Andjelko Bozic died due to the beating, while his sons suffered severe injuries.
According to the charges, on June 16, 1992 Djerahovic and other soldiers came in front of Bozic’s house in Bukovica village, Zenica municipality, took the three men out and beat them up.
The indictment alleges that they took Nedeljko to a cemetery, where they forced him to show them where the weapons were. Djerahovic then ordered them to shoot him. The soldiers blindfolded him and opened a burst of fire around him. After that he was taken, along with his father and brother, to a school building in Tetovo, where the Unit Command was situated.
The physical abuse then continued in Commander Jasmin Saric’s office.
Andjelko Bozic died due to the beating. His body was left in front of the ambulance building in Zenica, while Veseljko and Nedeljko Bozic were taken to Zenica prison, where they stayed until their exchange on October 31, 1992.
The Prosecution announced that it would examine ten witnesses, including injured parties Nedeljko and Veseljko Bozic, who now live in Australia.
As said by Prosecutor Branislav Tomas, they said that they were ready to appear in court and testify provided that the Court reimbursed the related costs.
The Court decided to invite them to a hearing scheduled for December 9, adding that it still remained to be decided whether they would testify via video link or appear in the courtroom.
The Defence of Sedjad Djerahovic announced that the indictee would testify in his defence.
The trial is due to continue on October 27.
