As per a request by the Prosecution of BiH, court expert in graphology Esad Bilic was supposed to determine whether a statement given to the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, in 1992 was written and signed by indictee Ibro Macic.
The handwriting looks spontaneous and free. Judging by the number of similarities, it probably belongs to Ibro Macic, Bilic said, adding that he had in mind the lowest level of probability.
He explained that, in graphology probability could not be expressed in percentages, but by using the terms probable, very probable and most probable.
Responding to a question by Trial Chamber member Darko Samardzic, court expert Bilic said that, if he took the differences into consideration, he would probably say that it was not Ibro Macics handwriting.
The public was not informed about the content of the disputable handwritten text.
Ibro Macic is charged with having participated in the torture and sexual abuse of detainees in Musala school building in Konjic from April to October 1993.
He was originally on trial together with Osman Brkan for crimes committed in Blace as well. The proceedings were separated after Brkan had been acquitted of charges.
At this hearing the Prosecution of BiH presented 33 pieces of material evidence, thus completing the Prosecutions evidence presentation process.
The Defence objected to one of the pieces of evidence, saying that it was not lawful. The objection referred to a personal military record for indictee Macic.
The Defence is due to begin presenting evidence on May 9.
