The Trial Chamber pronounced Pravdic guilty of having killed brothers Edin and Edib Fejzic on August 5, 1993. In an attempt to flee, the brothers had previously killed Pravdic’s brother and another HVO member.

“Being raged due to the death of his brother, Pravdic killed the two prisoners from an automatic gun. He first shot at wounded Edin, who was lying on a stretcher, and then at his brother Edib. He then pointed his gun towards other prisoners, but his comrades stopped him,” Trial Chamber Chairman Nermin Tesnjak said.

Explaining the verdict, judge Tesnjak said that Cantonal Prosecution witnesses’ statements were “credible and trustworthy”, adding that the Defence’s allegation that the Fejzic brothers were killed by Stipo Pravdic, indictee Pravdic’s uncle, were not trustworthy.

“When deciding on the sentence, the Trial Chamber considered the fact that indictee Pravdic is married and that he was young when he committed the crime as mitigating circumstances, while the fact that two people were killed was considered an aggravating circumstance,” judge Tesnjak said.

The parties have the right to file an appeal against this verdict with the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
