The letter, which was sent by Germany’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, indicates that Rakic wasn’t allowed to leave Germany during the time period when the crimes in the indictment were committed.

A court interpreter will be invited to the next hearing to translate the letter, as it is written in German.

Zeljko Rakic, Ranko Rakic and Marko Stankovic, all former members of the Bosnian Serb Army, have been charged with crimes in the village of Kucice in the municipality of Zavidovici. According to the charges, the defendants killed Zuhro Husanovic in Kucice in late August or early September 1992.

The trial will continue on February 23.
