Vojic and Mesic, former members of the 501st Brigade of the Fifth Corps of the Bosnian Army, have been charged with the repeated rape of a woman on May 1 or 2, 1994, and with forcing another person to sexually abuse the same woman.

“The chamber will recall the victim to question her about a statement she gave on May 2, 1994,” presiding judge Zoran Bozic said.

Bozic referred to a statement the injured party gave to the military police of the Fifth Corps of the Bosnian Army following her rape. The statement was one of the thirteen pieces of material evidence presented by the defense teams.

Prosecutor Cazim Hasanspahic objected to having the injured party testify again.

“We believe this statement was done legally. She talked about the rape but in a shortened form…The defense should have used this evidence when the victim testified,” Hasanspahic said.

The defense also presented statements given by Boro Boricic and the injured party’s son in 1994, as well as a criminal complaint regarding the rape filed at the district court of Bihac.

The trial continues on December 30.
