The Appellate Chamber of the State Court sentenced Suljo Karajic, former member of the Fifth Corps with the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to 18 years’ imprisonment under a second instance verdict.
Presenting his closing statement at the retrial of Suljo Karajic, who is charged with crimes in the Bihac area, the Defence attorney of the indictee calls on the Appellate Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to pronounce a lawful and fair verdict.
The Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, FBiH confirms a verdict passed down by the Bihac Cantonal Court, sentencing Senad Ahmetasevic to eight years in prison for crimes in Velika Kladusa.
Presenting its closing statement at the retrial for crimes in the Bihac area, the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina says that indictee Suljo Karajic is responsible for the crimes, calling on the Appellate
Chamber to pronounce a sentence in accordance with the law, in other words, imprisonment longer than 18 years.
Finalising today’s hearing in the retrial of Suljo "Hodza" Karajic, the appellate chamber declared the evidential procedure finished and closing arguments set for October 31.
The defence of indictee Suljo Karajic wished to admit an article from the newspaper Slobodna Kladusa from 1995.
The Prosecution calls on the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to pronounce a longer imprisonment against Senad Ahmetasevic, whom the Cantonal Court in Bihac sentenced to eight years in prison for crimes in Velika Kladusa, while the Defence proposes to the Court to revoke the first instance verdict.
After hearing closing statements from the Prosecution and the Defence of indictee Senad Ahmetasevic, who is charged with the murder of a prisoner of war in Velika Kladisa, the Cantonal Court in Bihac sets the pronouncement of the verdict for Tuesday, May 24.
