Enes Curic, Ibrahim Demirovic, Samir Kreso, Habib Copelj and Mehmed Kaminic are charged with participating in the detention of Coat civilians in the Mostar area from June to December 1993. The civilians were subjected to severe physical and mental mistreatment, and were held in premises lacking basic living conditions.
Demirovic is also charged with an alleged rape that occurred in Potoci in 1993.
According to the charges, Curic was a member of the 49th Mountain Brigade of the Bosnian Army and the manager of detention facilities at the school building and other locations in Potoci. Demirovic was the commander of the 47th Mountain Brigade of the Bosnian Army. Kreso was the chief of medical services with the military unit of the Mountain Brigade, which had been active in the Bijelo Polje area. Copelj and Kaminic were Bosnian Army members.
At the pretrial status conference, prosecutor Stanko Blagic said that he would examine 44 witnesses and said that he would need 35 days to present his evidence.
The defense teams said they would share their evidence presentation plans after the state prosecution finished presenting their evidence.
