Defendant Suffered Trauma in War

Presenting her findings and opinion before the Cantonal Court in Zenica, she claimed that the physical and mental health of the defendant at the time the crime was committed was damaged.
After he learnt that he was wounded by the plaintiff, Nermin Purak, she assessed, Adzic was in a state of extreme irritation with reduced ability to control his actions.
The expert added that she had an impression that the defendant felt some kind of remorse and that he tried to settle this with the plaintiff, but that after he was roughly rejected, he descended into an even greater depression.
With the examination of the expert and entering of the material evidence the evidence hearing of the defence was concluded.
Adzic, former member of the Croatian Defence Council, was charged with coming to the school in Zepce in June 1993, where wounded members of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina were held, approached the bed where two of the wounded were receiving infusions and wounded one of them.
Closing arguments at the trial are scheduled for October 20.
