Expert Examination of Guns after Murders in Prnjavor

Witness Radislav Vincic, who worked as Chief of the Public Safety Station in Prnjavor during the war, said that he remembered Alilovic’s murder.

“It was proved that Alilovic was killed from fire arms. Several rifles were taken from ‘Vukovi s Vucijaka’ unit’s storage. Following an expert examination, it was determined that one of the rifles had been used for shooting and that Lakic had used it. After that a criminal report was filed against him,” Vincic said.

He said that, following the expert examination, the rifle should have been deposited in the Court, but he did not remember that it actually happened.

According to the charges, Lakic, former member of “Vukovi sa Vucijaka” (“Wolves from Vucijak”) war military unit, killed a Croat civilian on February 18, 1993. Lakic, who was accompanied by two other persons, came to A.P.’s house, where seven persons were present, and hit those persons, asking for money.

When Zlatko Alilovic went to another room in order to bring money, the indictee allegedly followed him and killed him by firing four bullets.

Dusko Pejcic testified in defence of the indictee at this hearing. He said that somebody once broke Lakic’s teeth in “Fortuna” café.

When asked by the indictee whether he remembered that he was beaten by Vojko Duronjic, known as Jansa, and Zeljko Brkovic, former members of “Vukovi s Vucijaka”, on that occasion, the witness answered negatively.

Pejcic said that “Jansa used to mistreat people in Prnjavor in case they were not originally from that town”.

The trial is due to continue on October 23.
