Envera Mujala, formercook with “Zulfikar” Squad of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH, saidthat, when she arrived on Igman on April 15, 1993, none of the soldiers wasthere except a new guy, whose nickname was Menta. The witness said that shefound out what the new soldier’s nickname was from Sena Corbo, who used to workwith the “Zulfikar” Squad at that time as well. The witness said thatMemic joined the “Zulfikar” Squad at the beginning of April 1993, adding thatnew soldiers were not normally sent to military operations right after theirarrival. She explained that theSquad’s kitchen and base were located in the Mraziste hotel on Mount Igman. Memic, former member of“Zulfikar” Unit of ABiH, is charged with having participated in the shooting ofseveral Croats in Trusina village during an attack conducted on April 16, 1993.Memic is on trial, alongwith Dzevad Salcin, Nedzad Hodzic, Nihad Bojadzic and Zulfikar Alispago, formermembers of the “Zulfikar” Unit, and Senad Hakalovic, former member of“Neretvica” Brigade, for having committed crimes in that village.According to thecharges, a total of 18 civilians and four members of the Croatian DefenceCouncil, HVO, were killed in Trusina. When asked how she couldbe sure that she used to see Memic during those days, the witness said that shesaw her father, who too was a member of the “Zulfikar” Unit, for the last timeon April 15, adding that he was later killed. Terstifying in defenceof Memic, second witness Nedzada Lopara, another former cook with “Zulfikar”Squad, said that Sena Corbo introduced her to Memic. She said that Corbo hadtaken a meal to Memic before the body of Samir Semsovic, who was wounded inTrusina on April 16 and died soon after the wounding, was brought to MountIgman. The cross-examination ofthis witness is due to continue on Monday, April 15, when indictee Salcin willtestify as well.
