Following the reading of the indictment, Prosecutor Radmilo Ivanovic presented his introductory statement, saying that the Prosecution intended to invite ten witnesses and two expert witnesses. The Defence attorneys of indictees Tatarevic and Omazic said that they would present their introductory statements once the Prosecution had completed the presentation of its evidence. ??According to the charges files in November 2011, Tatarevic, former member of the Territorial Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, physically and mentally abused Serb prisoners on several occasions. ??It is alleged that indictee Omazic, former military policeman of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, tortured and treated Serb prisoners of war in an inhumane manner several times. At the beginning of the trial court medicine expert Petko Grubac said that Omazic was capable of following the trial. ??Acting on an order by the Basic Court, he prepared findings about the indictee’s health condition. The indictee has been on sick leave and medical therapy for a long time.?? Omazic’s Defence attorney Osman Mulahalilovic objected to the court expert’s findings, because he did not use the old medical documentation related to the indictee. ??The trial is due to continue on April 18.
