Witness Remzija Huseinovic saw trucks and tanks going from Glogova village to Bratunac from her home in Hranca on May 3, 1992.

“Behind the vehicles, there were soldiers, and Savo Zivkovic was one of them. He was wearing civilian clothes, but he had a rifle,” said Huseinovic.

According to the witness, an unknown soldier came to her house asking for weapons and when she denied having them, he forced her outside.

She went to her mother in law’s house. The witness recalled that she was hiding in a basement with other women and children, until defendant Mladjenovic forced them out.??

“He had a mask with an eye slit, but I recognised him by his voice. He carried a rifle and told everyone to get out,” said the witness.

Mladjenovic and Zivkovic are charged with committing crimes against humanity on May 3 and 9, 1992, by illegally detaining, physically and mentally abusing and destroying the property of Bosniak civilian population, as a part of a broad and systematic attack on the villages of Hranca and Glogova (municipality of Bratunac).

Mladjenovic was a commander of the Territorial defence in Bratunac, while Zivkovic was a member of this unit.

Witness Huseinovic said that soldiers went after women and children. She recalled seeing burning houses.

Huseinovic added that she thought she saw Mladjenovic near the home of Sinan Ramic, but that she could not be sure.

Once she was on the road, she said she saw Serb soldiers escorting ten men from the village, who were taken away by bus. The women and children were then told to return to their homes.

The trial will resume on April 2.
