Ten years ago I filed a criminal report for war crimes against those responsible for killing my son. They were arrested, prosecuted and found not guilty. I ask the authorities to re-arrest them, and until that does not happen, I will sit here and hunger strike, even if I die, said Arnautalic.
Arnautalic wrote on a billboard that she believes that the one responsible for this situation is the Brcko District Chief Prosecutor Zekerija Mujkanovic, and asked him to resign.
The Association of Families of the Missing, forcibly disappeared and killed Bosniaks of Brcko supported Andjelka Arnaultalics protest.
Unfortunately, previous experiences with the judicial institutions in Brcko tell us that it is unlikely Andjelka will manage to change anything, said the President of this Association, Ramiz Ahmetovic.
According to him, Arnautalic said that Kosta Kostic, Raco Simic and Milos Milosevic came to her house and admitted killing her son, so that she would no longer worry about him.
Unfortunately, the court did not believe her testimony, probably because of a lack of other evidence, said Ahmetovic.
The Brcko District raised an indictment in 2006 against Kosta Kostic, Raco Simic and Milos Milosevic for the murder of Jasmin Arnautalic, and the Elementary Court in Brcko acquitted them all.
Prosecutor Mujkanovic revealed that the Prosecutors office appealed this decision, and the Appeals court confirmed the not guilty verdict in 2007.
Kostic, Simic and Milosevic were freed of charged after the judges found there was not enough evidence to determine their guilt.
As a man I sympathise with Arnautalic for losing her son, but after the Court verdict, the Prosecution was left without options and we must respect this decision, said Mujkanovic.
He called on the public to support the Prosecutors office and come forward to testify in war crime trials.
