Local justice – Smajic: Presentation of Material Evidence

The Trial Chamber announced that it had received a notification which says that, according to the dismissal records of the Autosaobracaj company from Tuzla, Dragisa Maksimovic has not worked at the company since May 12, 1992.
Maksimovic is one of the prosecution witnesses at the trial of Izet Smajic.
Smajic is charged, as a member of the independent company of the Mosnik reserve police, with shooting wounded soldier Radovan Krstic in the mouth on May 15, 1992, in Tuzla. The incident allegedly occured when a column of the Yugoslav People’s Army was leaving the Husinska Buna army barracks.
Maksimovic, who worked with the defendant Izet Smajic, said in an earlier testimony that after May 15, 1992, “at his work station, he heard Izet Smajic bragging about shooting a soldier in the mouth.“
At the request of prosecutor Dijana Kovacevic, competent representatives of Autosaobracaj will be called to the next hearing to explain the “work hours list” for May 15 and 16, 1992.
Despite objections from Smajic’s Defence, the Prosecution will examine Blagoje Ljubojevic from Bijeljina at the next hearing on November 19.
