The Bosnian state prosecution on Thursday charged Senad ‘Grga’ Buzimkic, Rizah ‘Faja’ Fajic, Almir Sefic, Ermin Kadic, Amir ‘Pace’ Patkovic, Irfo ‘Mekenzi’ Velagic and Suad Nesimovic with committing a war crime against prisoners of war.

The suspects are accused, as commander and members of the 511st Glorious Mountain Brigade of the Bosnian Army, with contravening provisions of the Geneva Convention related to the protection of prisoners of war.

During an attack by the Bosnian Army on Bosnian Serb military positions around Kobiljnjak, Osmaca and Cojluk in the Bosanska Krupa municipality, the suspects participated in taking away the captives and killing them, the prosecution alleges.

Some of the prisoners were killed with firearms and others beaten to death with wooden stakes and other objects, it claims.

“At least 25 captured Bosnian Serb Army members were killed in this way. The bodies of the killed captives were found and exchanged in 1995 and 1996, while the body of one victim was found in 2004,” the prosecution said in a statement.

The indictment has been filed to the state court for confirmation.
