Vasic, a former member of the Bosnian Serb Army, has been charged with killing Ahmet Huseinovic by firing a bullet at him from a pistol in the corridor of the Vuk Karadzic school gym in Bratunac on May 11, 1992. The school was being used to detain Bosniak civilians

Witness Meho Salihovic told the district court of Bijeljina that he and Huseinovic used to live in the same village. He said their Serb neighbours and some soldiers arrested them and took them to the Vuk Karadzic school gym on May 9, 1992.

“When I was brought in, I saw Ahmet lying in front of the gym entrance. His body was covered in bruises and blood,” Salihovic said. He said he saw an unknown uniformed person with a rifle next to Huseinovic’s motionless body.

Salihovic said he didn’t know Milomir Vasic. He was unable to confirm whether the uniformed person who he had seen was the defendant.

The prosecutor asked Salihovic why he said he had seen Vasic in front of the school gym in a statement he had given in January 2015. Salihovic repeated that he didn’t know it was him. He said he couldn’t say the man he saw was Vasic, but he had heard his name from a prosecutor’s associate.

Also testifying at today’s hearing prosecution witness Ekrem Gusic confirmed having seen Huseinovic in the school gym, but he didn’t know what happened to him.

When asked if he was ordered to wipe blood in front of the gym, Gusic said he only cleaned blood off the gym floor after the murder of Medo Delic and his two sons.
