The presentation of Defence’s evidence at the trial of Semir Alukic and Fikret Hirkic, who are charged with crimes against the civilian population in the Prijedor area, has been completed with the presentation of 136 pieces of material evidence before the District Court in Banja Luka.

Alukic’s Defene attorney Asim Crnalic presented several documents related to the existence of the Territorial Defence in Kozarac, including a military police report, indicating that a crisis headquarters of the Territorial Defence was established and listing the leaders of the headquarters.

The Defence also presented a regular combat report issued by the 1st Krajina Corps, indicating that the Territorial Defence forces in Kozarac had been destroyed in military terms and that its remains were hiding in the woods.

Prosecutor Branko Mitrovic objected to most of the pieces of evidence, claiming that they were not directly linked to the event charged upon the indictees.

Alukic and Hirkic are charged with having committed crimes against Serb civilians in the Prijedor area in 1992.
