The agreement was signed by Hamdija Lipovaca, Prime Minister of USC, and Emdzad Galijasevic, Mayor of Bihac municipality, in presence of Andrej Mamontov, Justice Minister. In February this year a delegation of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council offered guarantees that the construction of the new building would be financed from foreign donors’ resources.

Justice Minister Andrej Mamontov said that the complete court building project cost 1.8 million euros.

Lipovaca and Galijasevic emphasised the importance of the project for Bihac and Una-Sana Canton, particularly in terms of creating better conditions for the work of judicial bodies.

“We are trying to realise what we agreed upon earlier. This means a lot to Bihac municipality, both in the financial sense, but also in terms of creating adequate working conditions for our court. The contract is worth KM 700,000. It has been agreed that the USC Government will pay the amount in 12 instalments,” Galijasevic said.

Lipovaca thanked Minister Mamontov, who supported the project from the very beginning, as well as Bihac municipality, whose staff completed the procedure within 20 days.

“This project provides support to judicial institutions, making sure that their work is objective, not subject to bias and not influenced by anybody, so, in the end nobody will be above the law,” Lipovaca said.

According to the current plans, the construction of the new court building will begin during next year.
