It is planned that Prosecutor Sanja Jukic will read the indictment and present her introductory statement at the beginning of the trial. The Defence announced that it would present its introductory statement and evidence presentation plan once the Prosecution had completed the presentation of its evidence.

The Trial Chamber chaired by Davorin Jukic suggested to the parties to determine the indisputable facts as soon as possible.

Brkan and Macic, former members of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, are charged with having killed four Serb elderly women in Blace village in June 1992. The bodies of the killed women have still not been found.

Besides that, Macic is charged with having participated in the torture and sexual abuse of prisoners in the “Musala” school building in Konjic from April to October 1993.

According to the charges, Serb and Croat civilians were detained in that building.

The indictees are defending themselves while at liberty. The first State Prosecution witnesses are due to be examined at a hearing scheduled for July 12.
