Witness Zeljko Sljepcevic said that, in his capacity as military policeman he inspected the crime scene following Hajdarevic’s murder and that, on that occasion he heard that people nicknamed Kidzo and Prica were mentioned as potential murderers.

“When we arrived in front of the house, the gathered people and family members had a negative attitude towards us. We said we wanted to help them and not cause any trouble. I did not hear anyone mentioning Konjevic in relation to the murder. Actually, somebody mentioned Kidzo and Prica,” Sljepcevic said.

He explained that he had known Konjevic from before and that he had never had any problems with him.
“Kidzo and Prica were members of our brigade. They did not respect the military codes of conduct,” Sljepcevic said.

Milinko Konjevic, who allegedly acted in collaboration with another person, is charged with having killed Hajdarevic in the vicinity of his house in Kozarska Dubica on August 31, 1992.

Testifying as defence witness at this hearing, Predrag Bartez said that he worked as a military policeman when the murder was committed and that he too participated in the inspection of the crime scene following Hajdarevic’s murder.

“When we arrived at that location, a woman asked us why we had come and told us to leave them alone. Eyewitnesses mentioned that they saw two soldiers in a yellow Mercedes,” Bartez said.

Defence witnesses Milinko Djukic and Radislav Basic said that the indictee was a member of their brigade and that they were on a battlefield in the vicinity of Derventa from August 15 to September 9 or 11.

The trial is due to continue on March 27.
