Thirty-three more victims of the 1995 mass killings of Bosniaks by Bosnian Serb forces will be buried at the annual commemoration at the Srebrenica memorial centre on July 11. On the 24th anniversary of Srebrenica genocide on July 11, the remains of 33 more people will be buried at a collective funeral at the memorial centre in the village of Potocari, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Missing Persons Institute told BIRN.

A mass grave has been discovered on Mount Igman near Sarajevo containing human remains that the Bosnian prosecution believes are those of Bosniak war victims who disappeared in 1992. Bosnia’s Missing Persons Institute told BIRN on Wednesday that it expected more than ten victims’ remains to be found in the recently-discovered grave on Mount Igman, which will now be excavated.

Former soldier Rade Garic was charged with persecuting Bosniaks by committing murders, torture, rape and other crimes in the Vlasenica and Srebrenica areas in 1992 and 1995. The state court in Sarajevo on Friday confirmed the indictment of Rade Garic, the former commander of the Interventions Squad of the Bosnian Serb Army’s Vlasenica Brigade, for crimes against humanity.
