Retired general of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, Bogdan Subotic says at Radovan Karadzic’s trial at The Hague that the Prosecution’s allegations that VRS committed genocide against 7,000 Srebrenica Muslims in July 1995 is “a deceit, more than 50 per cent.”


12. June 2013.
Witness Gordan Milinic says at the trial of Radovan Karadzic at The Hague that “Srebrenica was a big setup” and a “prank”, because most of “the several thousands of Muslims” were killed in combat when they attempted to break through to Tuzla through the woods in July 1995.

With testimonies from witnesses for the defence Gordan Milinic and Dusan Kovacevic, former president of Republika Srpska Radovan Karadzic attempted to distance himself from the chief headquarters of the Bosnian Serb army and the mass murder of Srebrenica Bosniaks in July 1995.

Testifying in defence of Radovan Karadzic, who is charged with persecuting the Bosniak and Croat population in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a witness says that the indictee did not have a hostile attitude towards members of those two peoples.

Testifying before The Hague Tribunal, former Republika Srpska police officer Ljubomir Borovcanin says that after the fall of Srebrenica in July 1995 he did not know about a plan for the execution of Bosniaks and that it “is hard for me to believe” that Radovan Karadzic would consent to the murder of captives.

During the continuation of Radovan Karadzic’s trial, Hague Tribunal prosecutors deny a testimony by Defence’s ballistic expert Mile Poparic, who said that the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, was not responsible for 17 sniper attacks against civilians in Sarajevo.
