Mirsad Hodzic, also known as Abu Dzafer, a former member of the Bosnian Army’s El Mujahid detachment, is accused of abducting and torturing three Croat civilians in Travnik in 1993. The state prosecution filed an indictment against Hodzic on Friday, accusing him of abducting three Croat civilians and threatening them with weapons in the Travnik area in October 1993 in order to exchange them for captured members of the El Mujahid Ddetachment.

The state prosecution has raised an indictment against Milenko Karlic for war crimes in Bosanski Novi.

Five men have been arrested on suspicion of having committed war crimes against Bosniaks, including torture, abuse, detention and theft, in the Bosanski Novi area in 1992.

The Ratko Mladic trial continues with testimony from defense witness Bosko Kelecevic, who denied that the Bosnian Serb Army persecuted non-Serbs in the Krajina region in 1992.

Defence witness Vojin Ubiparip told the Ratko Mladic trial that Mladic always respected the Geneva Convention and Muslims left Serb-held territory on the orders of the Party of Democratic Action, SDA, not because Serbian forces persecuted them into leaving.

With the testimony by the war president of the municipality of Bosanski Novi, Radomir Pasic, former president of Republika Srpska, Radovan Karadzic, contested charges of the expulsion of Muslims and Croats from this territory.

Testifying at the trial of Radovan Karadzic, Charles Kirudja, former United Nations official, says that, in the summer of 1992 Bosnian Serb authorities forcibly moved several thousands of Bosniaks from Bosanski novi, adding that those people were then transferred to Austria via Croatia.

Stojan Zupljanin appears before the Hague Tribunal for the second time and denies the 12 counts, contained in the indictment, charging him with crimes in Bosanska Krajina.

Due to legal regulations, Zupljanin might not be extradited to the Hague Tribunal until early next week, even though he was arrested outside the Serbian capital on June 11.
