It also charged him with the persecution of the Bosniak population in the Skelani and Srebrenica areas.
According to the charges, the persecution was carried out through organised attacks on villages and settlements, aided by artillery attacks, the murder of several people and the detention of Bosniaks in the Public Security Station and Cooperative Centre in Skelani.
Bosniak women and children were expelled, and at least 35 people were killed.
Stevanovic now lives in Serbia.
The indictment has been forwarded to the state court for confirmation.
