Psychologist Mirjana Music testified at today’s hearing, presenting the findings and opinion of a team of experts. Her testimony was given in a closed hearing, due to protection measures granted to an injured party.
The defense objected to Music’s testimony, because she isn’t included in an official list of court experts. The cantonal prosecution proposed that the psychologist testify as a qualified person.
“A qualified person cannot be considered a court expert in the absence of a decision by the Ministry of Justice. The assistance of a psychologist is allowed, but the psychologist is not considered a court expert,” defense attorney Zorana Carkic said.
The trial chamber decided to allow Music to present her findings and opinion in the capacity of a qualified person.
Gojkovic, a former member of the Bosnian Serb Army, has been charged with the rape of a woman and with violating conventions on the protection of civilians in the Grbavica neighbourhood of Sarajevo on September 29, 1992.
