Rade Vlasenko, Mitar Vlasenko and Drago Koncar, all former members of the Bosnian Serb Army, have been charged with participating in the persecution of the non-Serb population from the Kozarac area and the surrounding villages in the municipality of Prijedor from May 24 to mid-August 1992. The indictment alleges that the defendants committed acts of murder and enforced disappearances.

Forensic expert Semira Mesic-Pasalic said she participated in the exhumation and autopsy of Mirsad Halkic, Muharem Cirkin, Emir Talic, Enes Talic, Safet Besic, and Emir Besic at Kozarusa Cirkini in the municipality of Prijedor in mid-October 1999.

She said she determined they died a violent death caused by firearms, and also noticed bone fractures.

The trial chamber asked Mesic-Pasalic how she determined the bone fractures had been caused by firearms. She said the fractures were identifiably different.

The trial will continue on September 15.
