6. March 2015.00:00
The Supreme Court of the Bosnian Federation reduced the sentences of Milorad (Nenad) Cvijanovic, Svetomir Ilic, Vaso Ilic, and Milorad (Milan) Cvijanovic. The defendants were charged with committing crimes against prisoners of war in Smoluca, near Lukavac, in 1992.

Milorad (Nenad) Cvijanovic’s sentence was reduced from two and a half years in prison to two years in prison, Svetomir Ilic’s sentence was reduced from six years to five years in prison, and Vaso Ilic and Milorad (Milan) Cvijanovic were both sentenced to four years in prison instead of five.

On Friday the Supreme Court said it rejected the prosecution’s appeal to issue longer sentences. They accepted the defense’s request to lower the sentences.

Last year the cantonal court of Tuzla sentenced the four former members of the Bosnian Serb Army for committing crimes against prisoners of war.
