The Bosnian state court on Friday released Boban Indjic, Petko Indjic, Radojica Ristic, Obrad Poluga and Novak Poluga but ordered them not to leave their homes and not to meet witnesses or any of the other suspects.

The men are suspected of being among the Serb fighters who abducted 20 passengers from a train travelling from Belgrade to Bar at Strpci station in February 1993 and then took them to Visegrad and killed them. The remains of four of the victims have been found in Lake Perucac near Visegrad, while the other bodies are still missing.

Along with the five released men, the Bosnian prosecution suspects Oliver Krsmanovic, Luka Dragicevic, Dragan Lakic, Vuk Ratkovic and Momir Nikolic of the same crime. They have already been released from custody and put under house arrest.

All the suspects were detained during a joint operation by the Bosnian and Serbian authorities in December last year and remanded in custody due to concerns that they might try to influence witnesses and accomplices.

On Tuesday, the Serbian prosecution raised an indictment against Gojko Lukic, Ljubisa Vasiljevic, Dusko Vasiljevic, Jovan Lipovac and Dragana Djekic, all former members of the Bosnian Serb armed forces, for their involvement in the abductions and killings of the civilian victims at Strpci.
