Defendants Radomir Markovic, Mile Kusic, Dragan Bozovic, Sasa Perkovic, Radomir Gluhovic, Pero Radovic, Ilija Vukasinovic, and Milos Vukasinovic are charged with taking part in a widespread and systematic attack against civilians and with killings of the non-Serb population, which took place between April-September 1992.

According to the indictment, Markovic was the commander of the Socicka Unit of the Rogatica Brigade of the Bosnian Serb Army, while the other defendants were members of that unit.

According to prosecutor Seid Marusic, the defendants took part in the looting and unlawful searches of homes in the villages of Karacici, Vragolovi, and Golubovici in September 1992.

The defendants allegedly found twenty Bosniak civilians hiding in a garage in Karacici, who they abused and then killed. The defendants’ shooting caused the house where the garage was located to catch on fire.

“We will prove the guilt of all of the defendants,” said Marusic.

At the status conference held prior to the trial, Marusic said he would examine fifteen witnesses – two of whom are protected witnesses – and read a statement from a deceased witness.

The defense teams said they would not reveal their trial plans at this time.

The first prosecution witness will testify on March 19.
