The trial of two former Bosniak fighters accused of rape will begin on March 4. The date was set at today’s status conference held before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the indictment, Adil Vojic and Bekir Mesic, former members of the 501st Brigade of the Fifth Corps of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, forcibly abducted a Bosnian Serb woman and man from their house in Bihac on the night of May 1 or 2, 1994. They raped the woman in a nearby field, while a Bosniak soldier guarded the man. Other persons also accompanied the defendants.

The state prosecution announced that it would examine four witnesses and present 44 pieces of material evidence. The state prosecution said it would need four hearings to present all of its evidence.

The defense said that it would inform the trial chamber about its witnesses and material evidence after the prosecution completes their presentation of evidence.

The indictment was confirmed on December 22, 2014.
