Bosnia’s state prosecution has raised an indictment against former Bosnian Serb policeman Milenko Krsmanovic, who is charged with the abuse of a Bosniak civilian in July 1992.

According to the charges, Krsmanovic went to the village of Pediste with a Bosnian Serb soldier to a location where a Bosniak civilian had been detained. Krsmanovic and the soldier robbed the detainee and took him to the Sokolac police station.

The indictment goes on to say that the prisoner was beaten and abused by Krsmanovic and the soldier, and at one point had his life threatened.

After the abuse of the detainee, the indictment reads, he was handed over to the police and transported to the Rasadnik camp in Rogatica. There he was subjected to further abuse along with other Bosniak detainees.

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
