Batkovic Crimes Trial Postponed

The trial of four people charged with crimes committed in the Batkovic camp in the territory of the municipality of Bijeljina has been postponed due to the district prosecutor’s failure to appear.
As announced by the Trial Chamber of the District Court in Bijeljina, the prosecutor Nebojsa Jovanovic did not inform the judges or lawyers of the defendants of the reasons for his failure to show up.
For the crimes committed in the Batkovic camp the District Prosecution in Bijeljini charged Djoko Pajic, Petar Dimitrovic, Djordje Krstic and Ljubomir Misic.
As specified in the indictment, the four of them beat up and abuse prisoners, among them civilians, the wounded and prisoners of war, in 1992 and 1993 in Batkovic.
The trial will resume on December 5.
