In his closing statement Prosecutor Redzo Delic said that it had been proved, beyond reasonable doubt, that Kadic raped the injured party, knowing that she “had no family and that she was unprotected”.
“We consider that Prosecution witnesses’ statements are persuasive, credible and logical. They contain identical descriptions of Kadic’s picking up of the injured party, time and place of the event. Also, on the basis of the statements, one can see that the injured party suffered pain and that she still suffers severe consequences. The injured party did not want the investigation and trial to be conducted, because she was ashamed. She kept crying all the time,” Delic said.
Delic said that the Defence’s allegation that the injured party and Kadic knew each other and that they were in a relationship was “fabricated and not supported by any pieces of evidence”.
According to the charges, Kadic, former member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina forced a Serb female person to have sexual intercourse with him in Visoko on June 27, 1992.
The Cantonal Prosecution alleges that Kadic singled this person out of a group of people in front of a house and took her to a nearby hill, telling her that she had to come with him in order to be examined and that he would bring her back right away. He then allegedly raped her on that hill.
The presentation of Defence’s closing statement is due to take place on February 4.
