Trial Chamber Chairman Davorin Jukic said that Dugalic, the State Prosecution’s expert witness in military issues, would present his findings and opinion on January 22 this year, adding that the presentation of evidence at Kovacevic’s trial would be completed by his presentation.

Jukic explained that, when testifying before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, ICTY, Dugalic was granted protection measures, which had to be lifted in order for him to be able to publicly present his findings and opinion before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in his capacity as an expert witness.

Zemir Kovacevic, former member of the Interventions Squad with the First Bosanski Brod Brigade, which turned into the 101st Bosanski Brod Brigade with the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, later on, is charged with having committed crimes against Serb civilians in Sijekovac village in March 1992.

The indictment alleges that Kovacevic participated in an attack on Sijekovac village, where, acting in collaboration with others, he took 15 Serb adults and four children from their houses to a yard. Some of those people were killed.

The trial of Kovacevic began in July 2012.
