The presentation of closing statements is scheduled for December 13 and 23.
The Defence of indictee Ivo Raguz has given up its proposal to have the indictee testify in his defence. The Trial Chamber did not accept a proposal for presentation of an additional piece of evidence by the Defence of the first indictee. The presentation of evidence was therefore completed.
The presentation of closing statements by the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina is scheduled for Friday, December 13, while the Defence teams will present their closing statements on December 23.
Trial Chamber Chairwoman Minka Kreho said that the Trial Chamber was planning to complete this case by the end of the year, scheduling the pronouncement of the verdict for December 30.
The trial of Veselko and Ivo Raguz for crimes committed against detained civilians in Stolac and Capljina in July and August 1993 began in December 2011.
According to the charges, Veselko Raguz ordered, assisted or directly participated in the unlawful arrests and detention of civilians, resettlement of Bosniak women and children, as well as the physical abuse and torture of civilians.
The Prosecution alleges that Ivo Raguz participated in physical abuse of detained civilians.
The indictment alleges that Veselko Raguz was Commander of the Fourth Battalion of “Knez Domagoj” Brigade with the Croatian Defence Council, while Ivo Raguz was a member of that Brigade at that time.
