A brief administrative discussion on including material evidence proposed by the Prosecution in the case file was held before the Hague Tribunal in Ratko Mladic’s case.

The prosecutors announced that they would present the judges with two more expert witnesses prior to the end of the evidence presentation process planned for mid December.

The Trial Chamber chaired by Alphons Orie has heard testimonies by 162 Prosecution witnesses since July last year, when the presentation of evidence against Mladic began.

Indictee Mladic was absent from the courtroom, because he gave up his right to attend the discussion. Mladic, former Commander of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, is on trial for genocide in Srebrenica, persecution of Bosniaks and Croats throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, which reached the scale of genocide in seven municipalities, terror against civilians in Sarajevo and taking UNPROFOR members hostage.

Mladic’s Defence attorney Branko Lukic announced that, during the presentation of its evidence the Defence would present judges with the same number of witnesses as the Prosecution and do it within the same timeframe.

The trial of Mladic is due to continue on Monday, December 2.
