Branko Karadeglic, Defence attorney of Veselko Raguz presents findings and opinion by court expert in military issues Milan Gorjanc, an act issued by the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina and certificate for Tvrtko Raguz issued by the Federal Ministry of Soldiers and Disabled Persons of the Defence-Liberation War.

“We are presenting the last piece of material evidence in order to show to which unit Tvrtko Raguz belonged during June and July 1993,” attorney Karadeglic explained.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina objected to the relevance of two pieces of material evidence, namely the court expert’s opinion and Ministry’s certificate.

“We consider that the opinion by the court expert in military issues was based on a few pieces of evidence only,” Prosecutor Remzija Smailagic said.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges Veselko Raguz, former Commander of the Fourth Battalion with “Knez Domagoj” Brigade of HVO, with having ordered and participated in the arrest and detention of civilians from Stolac and Capljina during the summer of 1993.

He is on trial along with Ivo Raguz, former member of that Brigade, who is charged with having participated in the abuse of detainees.

The remaining pieces of Prosecution’s material evidence are due to be presented at the next hearing scheduled for November 20, 2013.
