Bosnia Asks Croatia to Implement Comos Verdict

Spokesperson of the Bosnian Justice ministry Marina Bakic said that the request had been sent to the Croatian authorities, according to an agreement on mutual ratification of court decisions.
According to her, the verdict must be ratified, and the Court, which received this case, will grant a verdict which cannot be higher than the original verdict.
Mostly, courts will render similar verdicts, she said.
Croatia has previously said that Ilijasevic, who fled jail in September, is a citizen and cannot be extradited to Bosnia. He was serving his sentence in Mostar prison, who released him on temporary leave.
Ilijasevic, former member of the Croatian Defence Council, was sentenced to 14 years in prison by the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for crimes in Vares and Kiseljak during the war.
A year later, the Cantonal court in Novi Travnik sentenced him to four-and-a-half years in prison for a murder in Kiseljak. The Court in Novi Travnik issued him a unique sentence of 15 years in prison.
