According to the charges, Fikret Planincic, Rasim Lisancic, Sead Menzil and Mirsad Vatrac, former members of the Territorial Defence, participated in an attack on Serdari village, Kotor Varos, on September 16, 1992, when 16 people were killed.

The Defence of indictee Menzil presented 26 reports from sessions of the wartime Presidency of Kotor-Varos in an attempt to prove that combats were conducted in the broader area of Kotor Varos, that Serbs were mobilised and that the continuity of actions by the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, existed. Also, it presented combat reports sent from the Command of the First Krajina Corps to the Main Headquarters of the VRS Command.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina objected to relevance of these pieces of evidence too.

Two witnesses are due to testify in defence of the third indictee at the next hearing. The other Defence teams proposed that witness Nedeljko Sakan be examined as part of the denial of the State Prosecution’s evidence. A decision about the proposal will be rendered at a later stage.

The trial is due to continue on October 8.
