Witness Zijo Causevic said that he joined the “Zulfikar” Squad on Mount Igman in January 1993.

“While I was on Igman, I used to see Edin Dzeko. He was a very well-behaved and nice guy,” Causevic said.

He said that a group of Squad members went to Trusina in April 1993 and that one of them was wounded, while another one was killed.

“I heard that Dzeko transported them to the dispensary and that one wounded man was saved thanks to his fast driving,” the witness said.

Dzeko, former member of “Zulfikar” Squad, is charged with having participated in the shooting of civilians and captured members of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, in Trusina village.

Witness Mustafa Hakalovic, former member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH, told the Court that, while he was on Kriz military position in April 1993, he saw that a vehicle, transporting the wounded, ended up in a trench on the side of the road.

“I came down from the hill in order to help them. I know that they called one of them Dzeko. We took the two wounded to veterinarian Atif Karalic, who offered them medical assistance,” the witness said.

Witness Redzo Poturovic, former member of the 45th Mountain Brigade of ABiH, who was present in Trusina in the spring, told the Court that he and two other men helped transport the wounded to an ambulance.

“I saw two wounded soldiers at the crossroads. I helped one of them, while my colleague helped the other. A car came, so we headed towards Gostovic village, because the dispensary was located there,” Poturovic said.

He said that the vehicle ended up in a trench on the side of the road, so two of Zuka’s soldiers helped evacuate the wounded, of whom they carried from there.

Responding to a question by Prosecutor Vesna Ilic, the witness said that he did not know Edin Dzeko.

The trial is due to continue on August 27.
