The Bosnian court on Thursday decided to release Dzeko from custody after he put up around 300,000 euro of property as security against potential abscondment.
Dzeko, a former Bosnian Army serviceman, is charged with participating in the execution of several Croatian Defence Council soldiers and Croat civilians in the village of Trusina near the southern Bosnian town of Konjic, and participating in the illegal arrest of nine civilians in Jablanica.
The court released Dzeko after he offered the financial guarantee but banned him from leaving his place of residence, temporarily confiscated his passport and said that he was barred from using his personal ID to cross state borders.
If he violates the court orders, he could be remanded in custody again.
After the war, Dzeko emigrated to the US, but the American authorities extradited him to Bosnia in December 2011.
