Sulejman Mujagic Arrested

Mujagic, former member of the National Defence of the Western Bosnia Autonomous Region, was arrested by the Immigration and Customs Service in Utica.
It is said that Mujagic might be extradited to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he has been charged with having killed an enemy soldier and wounded and tortured a prisoner of war.
The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina says that it transferred the case against Mujagic to the Cantonal Prosecution of Una-Sana Canton in July this year.
The Cantonal prosecution in Bihac confirmed that Sulejman Mujagic aka The Beard, a former Commander of one of the platoons in the First brigade of the Peoples Defence forces within the Autonomous region of Western Bosnia a breakaway Bosniak statelet, is suspected of murders and abuse of POWs.
Mujagic is suspected that on March 6, 1995 in Kumarica near Velika Kladusa he took two members of the Bosnian Army as prisoners and then killed Ekrem Baltic and abused Nisvet Cordic and shot him. He then forced him to crawl and escape the scene while injured, said prosecutor Jasmin Mesic.
According to Mesic, the Cantonal Court in Bihac issued an international arrest warrant after a proposal by his prosecution.
After the suspect is extradited and questioned we will file a indictment vrery soon as the investigation is almost complete, said Mesic.
