Former Serbian deputy security chief Franko Simatovic’s defence told the UN court in The Hague that his client did not command an operation in western Bosnia in 1994 and 1995.
At the retrial of former Serbian State Security officials Jovica Stanisic and Franko Simatovic at the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals in The Hague on Wednesday, Simatovic’s lawyer denied that his client commanded the ‘Pauk’ (‘Spider’) operation in western Bosnia in 1994 and 1995, as a prosecution witness has claimed.

Prosecutors played the video of the six Bosniak civilians’ murders, filmed by the Scorpions themselves, at Stanisic and Simatovic’s trial at the Mechanism for International Tribunals in The Hague on Wednesday.

The Bosnian state prosecution filed an indictment on Thursday accusing Salkic of committing war crimes against civilians in Velika Kladusa.

Two former Bosnian Army soldiers were arrested for allegedly raping and sexually assaulting an under-age Serb girl in the Sarajevo area in 1993.
Police on Wednesday arrested former soldiers Samir Kesmer and Mirsad Menzilovic on suspicion of raping and sexually assaulting the Serb girl during the war in 1993.
