The District prosecution in Doboj charges Kovacevic, former member of the Croatian Defence Forced of raping a female twice in September 1992. He is charged with threatening her with a weapon and using force to rape her, even though she had no sexual intercourse previously.
Due to the interests of the victim, and acting on the request by the District prosecution and Defence, the Trial chamber closed the hearing to the public.
Kovacevic, who is a resident of Croatia, pleaded not guilty in June this year.
