Local Justice Lavrnic: Prosecution’s Evidence Presentation

Prosecution witness Zdenko Modric, former policeman with the Public Safety Station in Kljuc, said that he was a duty officer at the Station on that day and that he received a notification about a murder in Rejzovici hamlet in the evening hours, but a crime scene inspection was conducted on the following day only, because it was nighttime.
The witness said that he knew Lavrnic superficially, adding that he recalled that he was armed, but he could not specify what type of gun he had.
Lavrnic is charged with having killed Ramiza Adzemovic, Fatima and Hata Risovic and wounded Ejub Cenanovic in Rejzovici hamlet, Kljuc on February 10, 1993. The indictment alleges that he was member of the 17th Kljuc Light Infantry Brigade with the Republika Srpska Army, VRS.
Semira Mesic, court expert in medicine, confirmed that the three victims died a violent death due to injuries caused by fire arms.
Court experts Milko Maric and Zeljko Popovic, who worked on the case as crime technicians in 1993, determined that the bullet capsules found at the crime scene matched the rifle that was given to them for expert examination.
The trial of Lavrnic is due to be continued on October 18, when Defence witnesses will be examined. Indictee Ratko Lavrnic will appear as a witness as well.
