Although the Trial Chamber accepted on July 5, the Defence’s proposal to re-examine witness Dragan Djordjic, who had previously testified for the Prosecution, the witness failed to appear in the courtroom.

The witness sent a written explanation to the Court. In that note, which was read in the courtroom, he informed the Court that he had serious spinal injuries, so he would not be able to travel in the forthcoming period.

When he testified for the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Djordjic said that indictee Macic killed Milorad Kuljanin in Celebici detention camp.

Zoran Djordjic, who recently testified as a Defence witness at this trial, tried to deny these allegations, saying that Dragan Djordjic was not an eyewitness to Kuljanin’s murder in Celebici detention camp in 1992.

Considering the fact that Dragan Djordjic is not able to come to the trial, the Defence of indictee Macic proposed to the Trial Chamber to re-examine Defence witness Zoran Djordjic about allegations by some State Prosecution witnesses, who claimed that he influenced witnesses.

“It is important for the Defence that the witness be examined about these circumstances,” said Kadrija Kolic, Defence attorney for indictee Eso Macic.

Macic, former member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH, is charged with having committed crimes against prisoners of war and Serb civilians in Celebici detention camp and Musala sports hall in Konjic. Also, he is charged with having participated in the murder of two Serb civilians in Celebici in 1992.

The trial will continue once the Defence has established contact with witness Zoran Djordjic.
