Witness Dragoljub Subotic told the Court that he met Zoran Djordjic five years ago in Sabac, Serbia, where he told him that he was a representative of detainees from America and Canada, which, as he found out later, was untrue.
He asked for money from brothers Damjan and Vidoje. I think that he asked Damjan Djordjic to give him money for the investigation of the murder of his father in Brdjani. I heard that Damjan sent him money twice and that he asked for more, Subotic said.
The witness pointed out that Djordjic told people that he was involved in the investigation of war crimes, but he was actually only interested in money, which he wanted to get from victims families.
He would attack people in America and Canada, who had money. Vela Arnautovic, whose parents were killed during the war, contacted me from America once. She told me that she received a call from Zoran Djordjic, who told her to send him around 500 dollars, Subotic said.
Subotic said that Dragan Djordjic gave money to Zoran Djordjic. Testifying for the Prosecution, Dragan Djordjic said that indictee Macic killed Milorad Kuljanin in Celebici detention camp. Zoran Djordjic, who recently testified for the Defence, said that Dragan Djordjic did not see the murder of Kuljanin in Celebici detention camp in 1992.
Responding to Defences questions during the cross-examination, the witness said that Zoran Djordjic said that he would defeat indictee Eso Macic and that he would face justice.
I know that he used to say that Eso took Milorad Kuljanin out and said: Today is the Muslim festival of sacrifice. Blood must be poured. Zoran Djordjic said that he would defeat Macic and that he would face justice, Subotic said.
Macic, former member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is charged with having committed crimes against Serb prisoners of war and civilians in Celebici detention camp. Among other things, he is charged with having killed a Serb civilian in June 1992 and beat an elderly Serb civilian, acting in collaboration with other unknown guards. The civilian allegedly died due to injuries.
Witness Muhamed Cakic told the Court that he reported to Konjic police last year that he was blackmailed by Nermin Mangic and Zoran Djordjic.
I was chased and blackmailed by Nermin Mangic and Zoran Djordjic. They told me that I did bad things during the war, that I committed rape, murder, persecution. They told me to collect money, 50,000, so they could solve that and I would not go to court, Cakic said, adding that he did not accept the blackmail.
The trial is due to continue on June 14, when two Prosecution witnesses will be examined.
