Ranko Rakic, Zeljko Rakic and Marko Stankovic have been charged with the murder of civilian Zuhra Husanovic in Kucice, near Zavidovici, in 1992.
Witness Miodrag Cvetkovic said he heard screams in Kucice in the summer of 1992.
“I went there. I saw Rasim Husanovic with his daughter in front of his home, he was yelling something about his wife. I told him to go. Later I saw his son and told him to flee as well. Later they told me Rasim’s wife was killed in crossfire,” Cvetkovic said.
The second witness to testify at today’s hearing, Gospa Cvetkovic, said that on the day of Zuhra Husanovic’s death she visited her husband in Kamenica. Afterwards, she said she got a ride from Stankovic.
“He brought me close to a spot we called the 12 kilometer, after which we couldn’t go any further, since there was crossfire. He went his way and I took the long way home. When I got home, a neighbor came and said Rasim’s wife was killed in crossfire. Rasim came to me the next day and he cried,” Cvetkovic said.
The trial continues on June 22.
